Hey! Ever needed an arrow to point something when designing prototypes?

👉 With our last release, you can select different styles for each end of an open path: arrows, square, circle, diamond or just a round ending are the available options.

Have you already tried our new release? Now you can navigate through prototype pages of the same file at the view mode.

You can also create a shareable link deciding which pages will be available for the visitors. Sharing... is caring! 😃

Curious fact when creating latest release 1.8.0.

👉 We were trying to fix a bug on how exporting to PDF changed color of html text inside a SVG foreign object, and... it happened to be a bug from itself!😅

So we reported the issue and solve it with their great support team.

Can you help us? We're in the process of definition of our beta version. We'd like to have your thoughts on this.

What do you think Penpot would definitely need to go beta?

Just tried @penpot properly for the first time, and it’s great! Made this little graphic to test it out.

Installed it locally via docker quite smoothly, and now have it humming away nicely on my machine.

I have a site redesign coming up, and I’m going to put it together using Penpot as a first full project.

I always liked the functionality of Figma, but the lack of Linux support was a point of frustration many times, not to mention Penpot is libre under MPL 2.0. Fantastic!

Our new issue of Possible Futures is out.

In this issue we cover the heated topic of 💸 FUNDING 💸 .

How can we ethically fund projects so tech projects don't end up scaling at all costs, ditching all morals along the way?

How do we fairly compensate people in open source?

This issue also includes our *first* piece of original content.

I interviewed the CEO of @penpot on how they fund their open source projects among other things.

This really is a cool overview of #UX and #UI tools - not only for design research actually but also actual design. Maybe in next year's edition you could be there @penpot 😉 🤞

Now that I have a pen display coming so I can use desktop software mouse & keyboard free, one of the first things I’m going to try is @penpot and I am SUPER excited about it.

Before RSI unceremoniously booted me off my Linux system, UI design was one of my very last non-FOSS sticking points, and I was using a volunteer made desktop wrapper around Figma. No more!

I’d really like to put together some tutorials showing people and the system once I get to know it too. Can’t wait!

On Mastodon, you can add up to four items (text, links or emoji) to your profile using a feature called "Metadata".

Access it by going to:

Preferences > Profile > Appearance > Profile Metadata (click "Save Changes" when you have finished editing)

If you are adding a link, remember to include https:// at the beginning, so that it works properly and is clickable.

You can be creative with Metadata, for example "Pizza" as a label and 🍍 as content.
