The fact that Google removed @Tusky from the Play Store without reason is a reminder to have your software and accounts under control.

What it is:
- it is a Google Play Store mirror
- open source and free
- no tracking
- available on F-Droid ()
- works without a Google account
- doesn't need Google Play Services (nor )
- not recommended: you can log in with a Google account if you wish

@pcastela do you (or anyone else ready this) know if anyone has thought to designate a certain date as a mass DeGoogle date? The thought of the Google execs crapping their collective pants if they saw hundred of thousands (or even millions) of accounts deleted en mass in a single day fills me with glee.

Take over your own data! ๐Ÿ”’ I have been waiting over a year to do this

Heard about this on Late Night Linux and it's a biggie.

Essentially, Google will be able to modify app packages microtargeting individual users. This is the way to get government spyware onto your phone to work around end-2-end encryption by capturing the content of your messages on the endpoint. Apple is doing the same thing btw.

Looking for a comparison of instant messaging that I found before. It had examples of and centralized, as well as whether the app was open source and its jurisdiction.

This was not a table but more of a type of comparison.

Unfortunately not able to find it anywhere. Does anyone know what in talking about?
