@owncast Are there any ways (at present or plans) to have multiple profiles for Owncast? I can give out keys but I assume every streamer is on "my channel"?
Are follows and mods etc. from a shared pool for the "channel" rather than the "show"?
@hamishtpb There's no real concept of a channel or show, it's all just an instance of the Owncast server. Each server supports one concurrent stream. There's no plans to change it into something more purpose-built for providers instead of individuals.
@owncast OK -that's cool. I wasn't planning on launching a new service or anything - just clarifying how it operates if I let a friend use my server.
The question was not a criticism of Owncast in any way. Separating the keys from the passwords seems to be good security and it is welcome.
I absolutely love Owncast and I am not trying to be negative or unfair - I was just trying to understand it in comparison to other Fediverse servers like Masto or PeerTube.
@owncast Also I wasn't asking for "multicast" capabilities - just sharing the load on the server at different times.
