The oldest song we know of is a Sumerian Hymn, 3400 years old, our oldest writing we know of is about 3000 years old. 300 000 years ago is the first modern Homo Sapiens Sapiens remains from. 10000 years ago we started our first agrarian societies
With a bit of luck you and I can live about 100 years, that's 3000 of us to the birth of our species, 100 of us to when we started using the land, 34 of us to that Hymn and 30 of us until our first piece of known writing.
@ohyran I really love history, it makes the problems everyone sees as "large and scary omg" as smool scratches on the surface. The existence of man? Nothing, nada. Unimportant in the big picture of the planets existence and the universe, it's fascinating and i love it. I often use a mapped space chart when i feel troubled in life, since my issues suddenly feel so small that i just laugh at them and face them head on.
@ohyran that is really amazing tbh, have you heard about Graham Hancock book America before, it’s a good read about these type of things
@jasonesman @ohyran people tend to view surviving first peoples as 100K year neolithic throwbacks, but I look at the evolution of north american (aka turtleback) spirituality in the context of social and environmental sustainability - which nobody else looks at that I know of (my karma and Cree religion)
