@wizzwizz4 Good idea. That worked!
@njha Report to them that it works in Firefox, and that they should really put up a blacklist instead of a whitelist and a warning instead of a banner because their software works in more than they think it does.
@wizzwizz4 I might have spoken too soon. It relies on a nonstandard feature only available in Chrome for text editing: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Document/caretRangeFromPoint
@wizzwizz4 Looks like someone hacked in a shim to make that work in Firefox, but there are "other bugs" as well. Oh well, looks like I'll be using something else :(
@njha scummy user agent sabotage
@njha A few years ago this sort of thing kind of made sense. Chrome was kind of leading the way. But things have slowed down and firefox has gotten much better.
I ran across an interesting open source alternative to this and notion a few weeks ago. Searching my history to find it 🙈
@njha https://github.com/outline/outline found it! One that actually looks decent too which is often a struggle with open source options
@geekgonecrazy ended up using this, thanks!
@njha I hate this, it's always a sign of bad software engineering
@njha Can you bypass that popup? User-agent spoofing, maybe?
