Anyone know if there’s a way to use some kind of physical token for people to access shared Linux or Windows workstations? Linux is using GDM and Windows is Windows.

Signing in with LDAP user/pass is too hard because I don’t actually have my password memorized.

I've found that a passphrase of three random words is only tough to remember for the first 5 or 10 times I use it. I just keep it in the password manager in my phone, and before I know it, it's worked its way into my brain and I stop needing to look it up.

Though I think Yubikeys can be used to log into machines. Haven't looked into it much though.

@njha as far as I know the yubikeys can somehow be integrated with the Linux login systems. But I haven't looked into it yet...

@dwagenk @njha Yes, there is a PAM module for Yubikeys.

There is smartcard authentication in Windows, but I don't know if it explicitly supports Yubikey.
