I understand how to configure and use #nmcli a little better now, but there's one thing I still don't understand: If both my wired and wireless connections are active, which one is actually being used by my applications, e.g. my web browser? There are two different ip addresses for each device, and I assume if I were to try to access my computer via the network either one of those IP addresses would work; but what about outbound requests?
there's a metric setting somewhere.. you can set it to different values on those connections and packets should get routed over the highest priority connection available.

@nebunez I did a little searching on how that works, and... wow. What a deep rabbit hole for such an innocent question. As always with NetworkManager and friends. (The answer is: It depends.)
