If you wanted to give an advice to someone what would it be

"I wish I could go back in time" can be rephrased as "If I knew what I know now". We are gonna say it at some point, but we can say it less by learning from each others' experiences.

Give me an advice on anything. It can be about cooking, investing in X company, any *ism, country or city, how to prevent bias, follow X person, what you wish you knew before starting/getting into [absolutely anything].

Day 27 of

If you wanted to give an advice to someone what would it be

@murtezayesil
- Be generous.
- Be polite.
- Always be open to new ideas and different ways of thinking.
- Never stop learning.
- Live simply, using as little of the Earth's precious, finite, resources as possible.

I forgot that anything does include cliches 😁
Thanks anyway.

You were looking for something more specific?

If you ever find yourself in Mwanza, Tanzania, eat at the Sports Club.

What does Sports Club in Mwanza has that Mombasa and Nairobi is missing?
@mark

@murtezayesil
Truth be told: Mwanza Sports Club has very little, apart from the magician who cooks there: the best Indian food I've ever had anywhere.

I grew up in Nairobi, where I learned English Language, and went to India for university. Since I am currently living in Middle-Asia and no way of going to Kenya, I am kinda missing spinach and ugali 😁

We used to stay at the Hurlingham when we were in Nairobi - mozz-infested rooms, but excellent scrambled eggs for breakfast. And their homemade marmalade was superb too.

@murtezayesil
Have you been on the plane between Nairobi and Arusha? Magnificent views of Kili. Also the plane between Arusha and Mwanza gives great views of the Serengeti.

Sadly, no. I went to Nairobi National Park but not Masai Mara. Infact I didn't go to any of the neighboring countries or even rural area (partly due to fear of malaria). We used to go to Mombasa in summer holidays because summer is the coolest season 😂

The overnight train to Mombasa used to be brilliant.

@murtezayesil You said cooking, this is my cooking motto: don't cook when starving, you'll mess it up.

Either make it a routine and make sure you're not starving yet when prepping dinner, or have snacks to give you energy while cooking.

In my experience not doing so have always ended with me ordering food with hands shaking from anger and frustration because if the dishes don't burn they end up being rushed and terrible.

If you wanted to give an advice to someone what would it be

@murtezayesil working with others in their choice of project is a fast way to get out of your habitual brain space.

If you wanted to give an advice to someone what would it be

@murtezayesil try to recognize that the human mind plays all kinds of tricks upon itself and things people say might have whole levels of meaning besides face value.

This might sound too abstract but it's not. A person might say "I want this" and really believe it, but at the same time their mind might be all "I want the other but I can't take it when you say no to me so I'll say something that will likely get a yes".

If you confront them the denial will be fierce and truthful, but this is because they don't realize it themselves.
