I miss being able to see the stars without light pollution.

I like to imagine that #Mastodon instances that have a large number of users like mastodon(.)social are like big cities like New York or San Francisco, and Mastodon instances that have a much smaller number of users is like a quaint little town in the countryside where everyone knows everyone. It depends on which you feel more comfortable being in.

It’s incredibly hot in north #India. And that’s coming from someone who knows summers are typically very hot anyway. I can’t begin to imagine what the next few decades have in store for us as a species. #ClimateChange

The fediverse is a true social network, in that it actually requires you to do "networking" and be "social."

Think of it like a crowded pub. There are no celebrities here. You'll need to make an effort to meet people, no algorithm pushes content on you. To find more people, and new content, you'll need to talk to people, and see what they're into. You can move around, but you need to get along with people sitting near you.

These are commonly labeled "problems," but I consider them "features." #feditips
