@utahcon it is for me a nearly-local company and I have to pay one euro less for nearly double the resources.

I'm doing it right now! The migration went a lot faster than expected since I apparently documented my setup the last time quite well.

You may experience a few problems in case your programms are trying to access the old IP. Otherwise everything should work just fine.

My experince with Hetzner, their service and especially the console is very, very good! Everything worked like a breeze and the UX is in my eyes really well done.

The German Corona Warn App went live today. F-Droid cannot distribute the app for multiple reasons:

1) The core bluetooth contact tracing functionality is only implemented in Google play services and requires proprietary client libs to be included in the app.
2) The google api mentioned above is only available for use by apps which are whitelisted by google and distributed through the play store.

@mcol I wanted something that has an interactive web interface.

@mcol I'm using Gitea since a few months. Before that I had a cgit + gitolite setup.

Wrote a little post about my Emacs note taking habits, partially inspired by @mike latest post about Vivaldi note capabilities.

Nothing special, just my thoughts about Emacs, org-mode, org-capture. But I see many people boosted my post org-capture, so I wrote a little bit more.

Only Day 27 of #100DaysToOffload. I really should write more damnit! xd

Org-capture is a fantastic mode if you want to write down ideas, keeping bookmarks quickly. You can have many notebooks, and you only need to memorize C-c c for accessing them.

Honestly as long as Emacs is around, I will use this. Zotero and other things will long be sold, closed, but Emacs is here.

And it's just text...

Docker and Electron are the most hyped new technologies of the last five years. Both are not about improving things, figuring out complexity or reducing it. Both are just compromised attempts to hide accumulated complexity from developers because it became impossible to deal with.

This is exactly why I hate using Docker.

Watched a video from @distrotube about the fish shell earlier. Made me realizing that fish seems to be the only program that I use constantly for years without any consideration of switching to something else. Consider trying it out yourself: fishshell.com/

Trying it now on my computer... It gets better but I still type really slow, have to think a lot and make many mistakes. But it gets better!

I'm trying the Neo keyboard layout since last week on Android with AnySoftKeyboard. When I get used to it I maybe also try it on my computer.

Day 32 of the series:

Port knocking is really something I expected to take off like wild fire, but it never did. Hard to believe for such a cool idea.

Although I need to define some other key bindings for switching nodes. It's very confusing to me if I work in Emacs and need to do something regularly to another window...

Playing around with bspwm since yesterday. Feels actually quite good. I started to miss a good tiling function in Plasma.
