Good luck and have fun.
@mindofjoe welcome! Sounds like you will fit right in here.
So then, nerd stuff aside, what are you riding? Here’s mine...Tracer 900.
@kev What a beautiful road & ride!
Mine? A used 2009 Kawasaki Versys (KLE-650), here with me in the suburbs in pre-pandemic errands. I call it "The Mantis" ~ green like the bug and curious it hasn't killed me yet 😛
@mindofjoe ah the Versys is a great bike! How do I know? I used to have one! Toured all over the place on it. They have a ‘face’ only a mother could love, but they’re so comfy and have such useable power. Great choice!
Here’s mine on a tour at the most northern tip of Scotland.
@mindofjoe talking of motorcycles killing us, here’s my 5 minutes of fame where a van driver tried to kill me...
@kev OH NO! But also, "WOW!" and "Classic..." I've actually had a person nod, smile, and wave, and *still* turn in front of me before realizing what they'd just done. Fortunately, it was not so ... immediate 😛 Worst so far here was a few cracked ribs and a bloody, gashed knee after the bike left from beneath me -- no impact with anything but the ground so far! 😛 Glad you pulled through!
@kev The Versys was definitely the ugliest... err, "most distinctive" one in the shop, and coincidentally the only one I could afford. What a stroke of luck, though: It allows that upright seating posture -- so comfortable & easy on back. [I do like the red!]
@ray All that without the dial-up / acousticly coupled 300-baud modem 😛 Already far friendlier in these parts than in the general population in one of my other open tabs. // How's running your own island working for you there?
@ray Very nice! I'm more of a failed hermit myself, but appreciate my nomadic brethren. Pleased to meet you, Ray!
