@CheRosach Devil's advocate here. Isn't that what Musk and his jolly gang are doing? Invading the bureaucracy of the United States on the promise of liberating the people of the United States?
Whether they actually intend to liberate us or just become the new boss remains to be seen.
@mike805 Musk's goal of putting humanity on Mars is not compatible with "becoming the new boss" of the USA. Much more likely is like buying Twitter, DOGE is a means to that end, to defang the Federal government to the point it's less likely to be usable as a tool to take SpaceX away from him before that goal is achieved.
Plus he's most interested in his enterprises when they're doing new things that require decisions, and here SpaceX's Falcon family is only exploring how many times they can reuse a first stage, and except for the expected but unpredictable failures, the road map for Starship is laid out to Block 3 variants of both stages. it's still using Block 1 for Super Heavy and the last test was the first for Block 2 of Starship, which failed, and from his viewpoint requires some work on his part but not much.
I gather what's interesting on his plate right now is "AI" and DOGE, the two of course linked to a degree. My question is, will this "temporary government program" outlast its Official legally allowed time frame, remit, and his interest. And if so, would that be dangerous at net?
DOGE is finding so much criminality and waste there's an argument to be made for a permanent auditing system much more powerful and effective than the Inspector General one (yes, it will get corrupted sooner or later, that needs consideration).
On the other hand nobody in the Deep State including the GOPe(stablshment) likes what DOGE is doing, see for example Lindsey Graham being caught with his fingers in the USAID cookie jar...:
No, it does not remain to be seen. It's a criminal enterprise and your moral, ethical, and legal relativity here is helping them.
Fuck off Nazi apologist.
