Day 12 of the 2021 Series:

Yes, I really am that lazy. Probably a little stupid too, but definitely lazy.

@mike very cool tip! That might solve the problem I have where some computers have flatpak that need separate updating and I keep forgetting.

@mike now just stuff it in a cronjob and you're set ;)

@mike Have a look at topgrade. It updates a lot of things not just system packages.

@mike this is cursed :cirno_for_reals: But pacman does have a flag for that which leaves you in a much better state than answering everything with y lol. I do pacman -Syu --needed --noconfirm pretty often. When there are package conflicts and other issues like that, it does require manual intervention so you can fix whatever issues arise

@amolith I did think about going with the --noconfirm, but it chooses defaults. I haven't had any issues so far, but then again I hadn't had any issues with UbuntuDDE until the whole thing blew up, so there's that.

@mike That's almost as horrifying as my AutoHotKey script that cancels my antivirus warnings that I use whenever I compile something...

@mike One day you'll find out about dnf-automatic and how well that just works in background :X
