#antiS (privacy-enhanced live #slackware OS) has been released to 2021.02-rc !

Quite big updates:
- Tencent #QQ (yes the notorious yet popular #spyware and IM tool around #Chinese communities) is experimentally added. It runs under #firejail which should well restrict its behaviors. 😂

- Other bloated applications (those installed in binary form) are also started under firejail #sandbox. #Linux

Yes! Finally I figured out why #signal-desktop doesn’t start on my live #slackware system #antiS...

it’s caused by the package manager (app+person) did not do the symlinking after installation. haha 😆

Nonetheless i still didn’t figure out why it had done the symlinks in the previous packaging/installing...

Okay the root cause is the notorious bloated all-in-one offline javascript app (saying electron) , that makes so many symlinks?

Duh... it took me a lot of time to build and test new versions of #antiS. 🙄

Forgot to include some new apps; refine some desktop files, etc. Firejail has new release for fixing security issues.

Many trivial things.

me spent several hours on learning #firejail and writing a profile for #QQ, the popular instant messaging app yet a notorious #spyware that many #Chinese users love.

It will be shipped with #antiS soon! 😏

#antiS live Linux distro (#privacy enhanced) has just been released as 2021.01.01! celebrating 🥳

some small improvements, e.g. restricted file/dir permissions in $HOME; default user’s umask is set to 027. 😝 Sorry for being late.

Building my live distro (#antiS) tonight: make default user home direct not writable/readable by others.

Make good use of the good old #unix access control (and maybe a sort of isolation )

I am proud to announce the release of my #privacy-enhanced live OS (#antiS: a distro based on #Slackware): 2021.01.

I am very happy excited that #Wireguard is working now thanks to Slackware-current as it has updated kernel to 5.10.x. Hooray 🥂

Other updates: #Chromium and some sorts of tools for #Yubikey are added. And right, #Xfce4.16 has new look, 👍🏾 great.

I spent quite a while to compile and install it . 😅

Let’s see whether the builtin #Wireguard works on my #antiS now!

- switch to a new support room for my #antiS Linux #distro in #Matrix network: #liveslack:privacytools.io

me going to release a new version of my own live distro: #antiS, with new apps added: #protonmail-bridge, #protonvpn-cli . And #Signal-desktop has been shipped with uninstalled package.

Note that 1) it should be installed every when the system starts (this is a tricky way thay makes the app work) .

2) Wireguard still doesn’t work under live environment.

NOTICE: it’s still very tricky that #signal-desktop doesn’t work unless a re-installation under the live runtime. So.... re-install it with a single command . I am sorry about this. #antiS

Congratulations 🎉 I have been successfully installed opensc and pcsc-lite via #pkgsrc on my #Slackware-current based live distro: #antiS . Formerly they were incompatible with Slackware-current that sooo frustrated me. Yep pkgsrc is serious 🧐

Just using a couple of hours tonight updating my #antiS image to 2020.03.01 with a workable #Signal-desktop, and #openconnect: the open source alternative for Cisco #VPN client. ✌️

#antis 2020.03 is out. It’s a #Slackware #Linux based , #privacy oriented, live operating system which distributes many anti-surveillance and anti-censorship software. Very happy to see Internet Radio is included as part of slackware-current. Lovely.

This week may not see enough time for me to hands on yubikey... I should compete tasks for k8s. Also , AppArmor should be integrated into my #antiS.

#AntiS , a privacy-enhanced, Chinese-based live Linux (Slackware) distro, has been updated to 2020.02.01. It is a small but important release! Happy protecting your privacy. 😂

- A hardened Firefox configuration (user.js forked from ghacks) has been added, thus: proxy through port 1080, close-on-close cookies, anti-fingerprinting and more configs become the default.
- Dnscrypt-proxy is added, used for better DNS privacy when user is not using proxy/VPN.

#antiS, a live OS focusing on #anti-forensics and digital #privacy, has been updated to version 2020.02 ! You may be happy to see new apps added: v2ray-core, Outline, with iceWM which can be mimicked to Win95. Happy hacking!

On my #antiS it will rename ‘mount’ binary after boot to prevent implicit disks mounting by malicious apps or users. Sounds a good idea 😂 anti-#forensics #privacy
