It's crazy how difficult it can be to get rid of pests in the house. We've been dealing with a carpet beetle infestation for the past couple of months now and ended up having to throw away half our fabrics. The little gluttons eat just about anything natural. Bedding, t shirts, hats, scarves, no fabric is safe. At first we thought they only eat animal based fabrics, but nope. Cotton is on the menu as well. And artificial fibres like fluffy polyester is apparently also comfy bedding.
I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to live in hot humid countries where pests are so common and plentiful that you almost have no choice but to live with them. Although I suppose its partly a matter of culture and what you're used to. There's cultures eating fried and roasted insects as street food after all.
