So, I've managed to move my #UbuntuMATE over to my external SSD thanks to GParted (I couldn't tell the progress with dd) successfully, and I was able to spend this early afternoon installing the macOS Monterey beta, setting up most of what I need.
So glad I was able to just move the partitions over and not lose my install. I can still use Steam and do Linuxy things as well as macOS, with no OpenGL support issues from VMs. I call that a win.
@marquiskurt to show progress when using dd you just have to add status=progress at the end. Eg:
dd if=/example/input of=/example/output status=progress
@werwolf I did discover that eventually, though I wasn't seeing any files or folders in Caja, probably because of how partition copying works. Either way, it all worked out. 😃
