"Google drops Blogspot India domain breaking hundreds of thousands of links"

What a mess!

Lessons:

1. Move away from Blogspot. It's not getting any love

2. Own your domain name even if you post on someone else's platform (so you can switch if necessary)

@markosaric Ah… you mixed up the ordering but I totally and heart-fully agree.

Own your domain.

@markosaric btw I found no source so far if this was intended or a mistake.

@bekopharm me neither. just saw it on hackernews and verified it is down

@bekopharm hehe yeah i was thinking of people on blogspot right now :)

@markosaric This is why I moved on from Google+ to making my current blog back in the day. And I was right, a few years and G+ closed, taking out all the posts. Not sad for most of them, but I did write technical help posts that would have been useful to others. At least on my own domain I can ensure that they don't disappear.

Adding lesson 3: Never trust a Google service to stay around.

@markosaric privacytools.io has a good blogging platform! maybe more people need to know about it
