@markosaric @laura I constantly urge my students to build their own websites. Some listen. Some don’t. But for every one that listens I almost invariably see them use it as part of their resume and it always pays off. Having your own website makes you just a little bit cooler than the next person.

@retro64XYZ @laura true. you can learn a lot too. possible to get experience with a variety of fields depending on what interests you. technical skills in starting/running a site, web design, writing and communication, marketing and trying to build an audience. it's all part of having a site. a good hobby to have overall
