When you Toot/Reply there's much more activity in the way of Follows/Boosts/Comments and your circle organically grows โ almost like you have "leaves" of interest that are interacting with other people's leaves in a forest where you as a tree can move around freely. That's probably an analogy for the Fediverse or something. ๐ค
Either way, I'll be damned if anything remotely simliar ever happens on Twitter.
The lack of an algorithm and suggestions in mastodon is quite interesting, it is kinda boring and tedious at the beginning, but once you gain momentum and follow the people you are interested in the Federated and Local timelines, it gets a lot better.
For all the hate the federated timeline gets, it's probably the most human. When you're there at the top, someone somewhere is reaching out to anyone anywhere and for a moment, that's you.
You might not understand them and you might not know what they're going through, but you hear them.
For a moment-- across space --you're united with a stranger in time. That's simply unfathomable.
Spread love.
I've not used FB since we are in 2021. Want to make #Mastodon my main social media.

2- #Reddit 25% (you can really dive into subjects as stated on their tagline)
3- #Twitter 15% (to keep track with what going on in the rest of the world).

Introducing myself is not easy as I'm actually on active journey on discovering more about.

Some people claim that instance-blocking weakens the fediverse, and undermines the point of federation.
This is the opposite of the truth.
The point of federation is that it limits the accumulation of power: no single instance can control fedi, because users can always switch instances without leaving fedi.
This is why fedi and fascism are fundamentally opposed -- and why the ability to block fascist/abusive instances is the very heart of federation's power to serve its users.
