An exceptional LINUX-DECADE of 2020's is upon us?

The growth of desktop Linux can be checked on the area of gaming: gaming is one of those resorts deciding the OS for millions and Linux has never been stronger in that area as today.

One place the Windows-refugees flee to is Linux.

Key words: Steam + Proton + Lutris + DXVK. Picture from /r/Linux_gaming.

Android is annoying? Android "in your face" all the time? Switch to Sailfish OS from Jolla!

A mobile LINUX operating system Sailfish OS 3.2.1 code named "Nuuksio" now available.

"Nuuksio" is a place with typical Finnish scenery, with lovely lakes, green forests and rugged crags. Nuuksio has one of the densest flying squirrel populations.

"Killing links is a strategy, designed to keep people from the open web. The web is where we can make sites that don’t abuse data in the ways that Facebook properties do. Links take us to places where we can make choices that Instagram never would."

Beside fixing bugs and security issues, the update improves several Jolla apps, like Messages, E-Mail, Documents, Camera and others.
Like in the previous updates, several improvements were developed in collaboration with OMP.
Moreover the update announcement confirms that the support for Nextcloud will be available in next release.

- Release notes:

- Changelog:

The DXVK developer: "entering maintenance mode".

Part of the reason stated by himself: "Most of the 1.4.x releases introduced major regressions which I cannot reproduce, and therefore cannot debug and fix..."

Doitsujin is handling this project quite alone! He needs help.

Valve, please: hire him full-time so he can refactor, assign manpower to lower the workload.

Hey it's Episode 20!

I drop a rather surprising bomb about a new favorite, and revive my love for the Late 2013 MacBook Pro by slapping a variety of Linux distributions on it.

Plus: The L4E community shares what they appreciate about Linux that simply isn't possible on Windows, and Liam from brings us another fantastic mini-review.

Manjaro Linux team represents ARM (the primary hardware environment for many mobile device OS's).

The resilient team of Manjaro have teased it already a lot. Now proud to have their first Alpha of Manjaro Linux ARM ready for the Pine64's Pinephone!

* Basically you'd use Arch on your phone BTW *

Thoughts about Disney aside, for all the bad they represent, lets think about the fact that Linux got addressed by the company itself and in just a few days.

Meanwhile: Google Drive is nowhere to be seen coming for Linux.

These are not recommended for use to start with, as the goal is user freedom, but these definitely help Linux adoption.

Once on Linux, the free as in freedom alternatives can be found thereafter.

* Reasons to ditch Windows for Linux! *

First of all, you don’t have to pay a cent to download and install Linux on your computer. This means you can spend money on better computer hardware or simply get your hands on a computer for less.

That’s a big deal for educational computers, office machines for your business or even just the HTPC you’ve been thinking of buying.
