Today I gave (0.8.1) another try (on edge running on the ), and with two little tweaks in the apps settings (Touchscreen mode on and Show buttons in timeline off) it's the best client I ever used on .

@linmob unfortunately #debian/#mobian has only version 0.7 for now. Installing 0.8.1 via flatpak as we speak. I've been using hydrogen as a webapp or fractal+pantalaimon for now. Neither solution is really optimal unfortunately.

So I am looking forward to giving Nheko another try. Thanks for the hint :)

@linmob looks really smooth for now. but i get occasional rendering issues, forcing me to restart nheko :/

@JayVii_de @linmob If you have any easy to reproduce issues, please report them to us on our bug tracker or in! We know that the experience on the PinePhone is not ideal and if there are easy things to improve that, we'd love to do that! (Well, only if it is not too much effort for you to report, we would just appreciate it! Thanks!)

@deepbluev7 @linmob might be a flatpak quirk or some GLES issue(?). I'll look into it next week and see if I can debug it a little. I'll open an issue ASAP

@JayVii_de No need to hurry, but thank you for looking into that!

@linmob I tested it quite a bit in the past to and would have some questions (if you don't mind). Is it somewhat stable now? Is scrolling still so bad or has that been improved and has the scaling improved? 🤔

@gamey It ran fine for a while at least, and scrolling was okay after enabling "touch screen mode". There's still potential for impovement, but it felt faster than , the only other app that supports E2EE. Maybe it's just me, but I have no time for communications apps that lack end 2 end encryption.

@linmob I think it was actually the client that refused to even start most of the time last time I tested it so I thought I would ask if that has gotten any better. Will try it again for sure now :D

Missed style points for not screenshoting with the librem-5 matrix channel 😉

@vurpo I can at least on my Laptop using the touch screen. I fixed that a month ago or so.

@vurpo Definitely. It's a bit sluggish, but it scrolls.
