@libreoffice are there any plans for an AI integration like a libre.copilot?
@lxm if you run it localy, you keep your privacy.
@Gegenwind We have no plans to put any AI inside LibreOffice. But for people who want such functionality, the community is working on (purely optional!) third-party extensions, such as: https://blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2025/01/16/localwriter-a-libreoffice-writer-extension-for-local-generative-ai/
@libreoffice thank you for keeping AI outside LO! If people want it they can plug it in through extensions.
@Gegenwind
@jt_rebelo true, Opt-In via extension is cool
@libreoffice
Will it be able to update from within LibreOffice ?
@the5thColumnist Hi! You didn't say anything about your setup (eg the operating system you're using) but on Windows, in-app updating was recently added.
@libreoffice
Windows 11. It wasn't available last time I updated. It is telling me "LibreOffice 24.8 is up to date" but I assume it is being released gradually.
@libreoffice
Last week I downloaded and installed the version 25.2 from your website which was removed later. Should I need to download it again?
@libreoffice Can we have a clean theme that removes all the clutter that less than 2% of users ever click on?

I have a serious question. Will LibreOffice ever be a product with batteries included regarding grammar and spell check on a high level? I know that we have a very good spell checking, but I was wondering if there's ever something planned to have a really working grammar and style checking tool like languagetool out of the box.
@devSJR Hi! You can submit an enhancement request: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/ – But of course, we're a volunteer-driven project with very limited resources. If you'd like a better grammar checker, please consider helping our volunteers, or funding a developer. Thank you!
@libreoffice hi, how does updating work? Do i have to uninstall the old version and install the new one or can i update from the libra office app?
@J3317 Hi! It depends on your setup (you didn't mention what operating system you're using, so it's hard to say).
@libreoffice Looking forward to trying this. I think it’s supposed to fix a bug that’s been keeping me on 7.6.
@libreoffice Just realized I was on 24.8 and it wasn’t updating. Installed 25.2. Enjoying the software, thank you!
@libreoffice hello, just updated to 25.2, can't find the option to change comment color. Is it per comment, or per user? Where is it? Even used kde's global menu's search, and can't find it.
@libreoffice Hi, maybe it has something to do with theming support, but on MacOS I can’t set a fully bright UI style. While the icons and so on are light the background around the page stays dark gray. Can’t do a screenshot right now….
@compfu Hi! Please report all issues to our QA community at https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/ – Thanks
@libreoffice Sadly, your new appearance settings have messed up my profile (as you can see in my toot), so I can’t recommend to change anything there.

Fortunately, I could replace it with an intact copy of my “~/.config/libreoffice” folder on another PC, but I couldn’t fix it another way.
Plus, the French translation is wrong (“maigre” instead of ”clair” for “light”, really?), but it’s a very minor problem compared to the rest…
