Don't Open!

Had been reading about Reverse Psychology lately and if you've opened this, this is what it actually is.

Good day :ac_amazed:

Few days ago i came across the idea of Minimalism and i got really caught up with that idea. The idea is to only focus on things that add value to your life and nothing else.

However, i apply that mindset towards the applications and services that i have subscribed to. Starting today I'm decluttering my online experience by unsubscribing from the services that don't really add value to my online presence.

It's so ironical that people who have "My life, My rules" written on their Instagram bio, spend all their life caught up in digital social feedback loop of likes and comments, the infinite recommendation swipe-up's and let Instagram decide the rules for their lives.

Friend : Why should i focus on if I'm not doing anything against the Authoritarians?

We live in a democracy. And for proper functioning of democracy the law of civil liberties is essential. The whole point of democracy is to limit the power of the government to give power in the hands of people. Civil liberties and free speech specifically are the actions that are performed by private people in a private space.

I had been heavily tied into Google Ecosystem since 2 years. I tried to get out of it ever since i got to know how invasive it can get. And, It took me 6 months to migrate my data out of Google Ecosystem to other services and delete my account today.

Never knew how bad ecosystem hooks can be when you're trying to get out of it. :ac_exclaim:

I have a very bad habit of "Uncontrolled Brainstorming" before starting a project where I have so many options to implement a functionality that I think through all of them and end up doing nothing at all..

"Yes, I am empowered to change the technology around me." is an attitude the free software movement spreads.

Holy crap, google is apparently taking down all/most fediverse apps from google play on the grounds that that some servers in the fediverse engage in hate speech. At least three apps I know of anyway and I'd imagine the others will follow soon under the exact same reasoning.} Seems to be the case with Husky, Fedilab, and "subway" tooter.

this is a scary precedent if google play is going to ban any apps that can in any way be used to access content with hate speech. So what about a forum client, do they take that down just because there is a forum somewhere on the internet posting hate speech?

This is particularly worrisome because for most people Google Play is the only way they understand to install apps at all.

I remember those days when I used to admire Google, they were very friendly with FOSS ecosystem. I remember the typical slogan "Don't be evil" and I used to believe them. Now I say fuck you Google and fuck everything you have become.

I started like Duckduckgo but my old experience don't let me trust in any fucking company that main product is closed source.

That's why I always try to take the risk and try to like more community distros or software made by community.

Dr. Stone is definitely the best I have watched so far. Totally recommended!

Every minetest server now seems like it's already been developed completely and there is n room left for me to build my base or improvise. Couldn't find any beginner friendly servers in the discover section. Can anyone recommend me a fresh, beginner friendly server?

For a trainee developer like me, Merge conflicts are nightmares! :git: :oh_no_bubble:

Is there any good frontend to Linkedin like you have Slide for Reddit?

Hey people of Fediverse. I'm planning to self host and I absolutely have no idea where to start from. I tried using raspberry pi as a media server, but it wouldn't take the load. So I'm planning to scale up, but this time, with better planning. So, can you guys tell me how did you all started self hosting? And what are the hardware do you use for self hosting? Any pitfalls that I need to be aware of?
