That's it. You're saving a very important piece of internet history that may be necessary later.
Thank you for your attention. Your effort makes the internet a better place.
Another thing you can do, even easier:

This madness cannot continue!

@wholesomedonut you make the internet a better place!
@kzimmermann Done! Thanks very much for raising your voice and leading the way :)
@lohang cool! You're welcome. This isn't my calling, I just wanted to raise the awareness for this censorship attempt. Nice to see you again here, btw. I remember you since the Quitter.se times!
@kzimmermann Yes indeed. From the GNUSocial days! I also had your [previous?] blog on my feed reader too. If I remember right, it stopped updating. You must have moved to a different address.

I'm sure there will be lots of others though ;-)
@gemlog sweet! We all make the federation stronger that way
@jacques awesome :D
@kzimmermann It's important that the goal is code preservation (correct?), the way on which the program access and download the videos changed constantly due to the intentional obfuscation of the site it access. Download and fork, is important, but above all, contact github to tell them this:(https://github.com/github/dmca/blob/master/2020/10/2020-10-23-RIAA.md) is wrong, contact content producers and tell them to migrate to a site which understand the separation between software and content, respects users and content prodcuers
@gassahara yes, you're right - Github is no saint, but acted under pressure of a bigger crook (RIAA), and it needs to know that bending over due to external pressure is bullshit.
However, that is lengthy and probably won't be very useful (due to $$$ interests), so a general boycott until they change their minds is more useful in the short term.
@kzimmermann Whut, what happened?
