To counter demand, I've set up my own instance. Client-wise, everything looks very promising. However, server-side, I found some hair-raising issues:

- a newly installed instance is "open for public" by default. Imho, this is just crazy from a legal pov.
- jitsi needs around 5 subsubdomains for its various subservices.
- setting up a "secured domain" seems complicated and did not work for me (yet).

Given these, it's hard for me to give an unrestricted recommendation for it.
