Boosts appreciated.

Thanks to @ilpianista for their contribution [1] making Keyoxide fetch avatars from the open source @libravatar instead of gravatar. Will be in the next release!

BTW, we have a few beginner-friendly issues [2] which make for a great introduction into the world of 😎

So excited to announce Keyoxide version 3.0.0 πŸŽ‰

This update was worth the wait, with a (much needed 😎) redesign that is cleaner and more consistent that before.

Now also featuring server-side rendering! So not only pretty darn fast, but also parseable by Mastodon! Keyoxide links in Mastodon bio with a βœ… for everyone 🀩

Thank all for your support. Here's to taking our online identity back from Big Tech!

2.5.0 just launched with support for and identity verification πŸŽ‰

More communication platforms!

Yes, they patched it, but I still don't like #Keybase, also because it was (partially) bought by #Zoom. I use the decentralized solution @keyoxide for this and yes it is more complex but you only do this once and then you have it. Apart from that there should now be a #shell #script for it.

just released its 0.0.5 update! It now recognizes Keyoxide as a social handle πŸŽ‰

To celebrate, 2.4.1 can now verify your ownership of an Owncast instance 😎

Here's the guide keyoxide.org/guides/owncast to add this to your own profile!

Let's get streaming while supporting decentralized networks!

First release of 2021 πŸŽ‰

Version 2.4.0 introduces 'signature profiles' allowing one to keep identity claims in signed documents instead of notations in keys. Easier and safer in certain aspects!

Hey devs! Awesome project, love it! Given that it's decentralized, a nice candidate for being part of the decentralized identity ecosystem πŸ˜‰

I could implement it right now with the requirement of putting the fingerprint in the "summary". Another (nicer 😊) way would be to support keyoxide as a "social handle". Keyoxide could then verify that that link is present, proving the identity claim!

New project released: the cli is now available through πŸŽ‰

Verifying identities is now as simple as running 'keyoxide verify test@doip.rocks' in the terminal.

thanks to @kubikpixel (who pointed me towards it) and after a day of fiddling around, i managed to get myself a neat #identity #verification page at @keyoxide 😎

Keyoxide Project Update #1

yarmo.eu/post/keyoxide-project

Been a bit busy lately: creating a non-profit foundation, getting a grant and releasing a library! 😎

Oh, and there's a Keyoxide Matrix room now! :matrix.org 🀩

Big announcement time πŸŽ‰

This project started as a "labor of love" side project but the awesome community response clearly showed me it deserved even more attention and care.

I'm excited to announce that NLnet / @NGIZero will be funding the project, allowing me to dedicate my full time to it and contribute in my own way to our collective struggle for online identity and security.

I thank all of you for your motivating feedback. Now, we can really begin 😎

Just a little update: I'm back from a much needed break so development is resuming soon. Though I haven't touched the code in three weeks, I haven't been idle either and I'll hopefully have some good news soon πŸ˜‰

I saw some discussions around @keyoxide and a comment about how is more novice friendly caught my eye. So I decided to checkout @yarmo 's excellent documentation and create an interactive (hopefully) novice-friendly script.

Here's Keyoxidizer: github.com/shombando/keyoxidiz

This is work in progress and the notation is a shameful hack, so I'd love to help to sort it out. It only supports Mastodon now but I plan to incrementally add other platforms (that I have accounts on). PRs welcome!

Great feeling to start the monday with a release πŸŽ‰ 2.2.0!

If you know SEMVER, you know it's going to be more than just fixes πŸ˜‹

now verifies proofs for and !! It also supports the Onion-Location header if you have a keyoxide instance hosted on the
network!

Thanks so much to @supernova and @dusansimic for their contributions!
