You cannot sell anything to confident, happy, and content people, doubly so for people in loving relationships.
All of it is made to make us miserable when we are really not.
I believe that we are fine, in general, but making us insecure, miserable, and anxious seems what advertisers need us to be.

As for ultraviolet-visible spots that /aren't/ damage-related, or stripes (humans have stripes), it's a non-issue.

UV being a shorter wavelength probably reveals a lot of imperfections that visible light and IR miss.
Girls with dusky skin colour looks very good and attractive to me. I am so fond of darked skin colour.
