@karan I think blaming capitalism here deflects from what could have helped prevent this, such as consumer safety and protection laws and a legal system enforcing them. Because it's just as likely that a government agency or even NGO would produce and distribute poison.


@tomosaigon there are consumer safety laws. The company made the calculation that the punitive cost was low enough.

You make a fair point though. The US government has poisoned it's own people.

However their motivation, or an NGO's motivation, isn't profit.
