Come play Armagetron Advanced, it's retro FOSS game night
The game is probably in your package manager as "armagetronad". If you use multiple displays you may need to press f to de-fullscreen and manually futs with the graphics settings (it's an old game).
Connect to custom servers by going to play game -> multiplayer -> server bookmarks -> add server manually; live.drewdevault.com on the default port.
Controls: z/x for left/right, s for global chat, t for team chat. Goal is to make other players crash into your light trail.

the number one question i’m getting about Reform is: “how is real world performance? what can you do with it?” i’m working on an article/videos adressing this.
i would like to know your expectations / which apps and tools you need to work.
It's "World Password Day" - which is an excellent day to remind you to use an encrypted password manager. Literally any of them are better than not using one.
Why use one? It allows you to create unique complex usernames and passwords that are forgettable.
This increases your information security.
Our manager of choice is #KeePassXC - it's easy to use, syncs really well across any cloud service and is loaded with features and a browser extension.

reminder to #xmpp IM developers:
make e2e encryption by default.
just to point out an example: https://github.com/privacytoolsIO/privacytools.io/issues/1838
Devs that claim: but usabilty.
Yes, this is the reason you need to implement it as default, otherwise you're not developing a secure IM. One party just doing one wrong click, should not turn an IM into a leaking nightmare.
Would someone like to package #Pharo for #Debian?
Today I'm trying out Spectral, a QT-based cross-platform #Matrix client.
ActivityPub can be confusing and/or hard to test or develop against.
I started a new side project called FediDB to help Pixelfed and other implementations debug federation issues.
It will be launching soon, need to test DMs and Federated Stories in Pixelfed 😅
I'm eager to work with other projects on this!

first alpha release of #briar desktop:
😻 yeah!!! 👏 I haven't tested it, but I was already waiting for it.
👉 the developer is looking for a #debian package maintainer. so a boost might help to find that person?
you have no idea what #birar is?
"#Briar is a messaging app designed for activists, journalists, and anyone else who needs a safe, easy and robust way to communicate.
Unlike traditional messaging apps, Briar doesn’t rely on a central server - messages are synchronized directly between the users’ devices.
If the internet’s down, Briar can sync via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, keeping the information flowing in a crisis.
If the internet’s up, Briar can sync via the Tor network, protecting users and their relationships from surveillance."

The Malleable Systems Collective is a new group that's launched just December 2019 and looks really exciting.
<< Modern computing is far too rigid. Applications can only function in preset ways determined by some far away team. Software is trapped in hermetically sealed silos and is rewritten many times over rather than recomposed.
This community catalogs and experiments with malleable software and systems that reset the balance of power>>
