A) save a list of files in a directory, and
B) check if the contents of a directory have changed since the last time the application was run?
Constraints: has to include any changes in nested subdirectories. Has to be able to quickly check large lists of files (10K+). Has to work cross-platform on Mac, Windows, and Linux.
Ideally, it would also quickly refresh the file list with only what has changed.
Of course, that leads to a different set of problems…
That guy. You know, him?
