So apparently right now in #Spain, ISPs were ordered to block access to #GitHub. I haven't seen a news article myself, but it seems to have been targeted at #Catalan developers, but somehow many more random developers are affected, perhaps GitHub is even blocked nationwide. I don't live there anymore but my friends there tell me. This is insanity. The government accidentally ordering ISPs to block all access to GitHub. I'd not be able to do any work that day. Or week. We'll see.

Need your help fosstodon!
I'm currently in Uzbekistan, and doesn't connect. Same thing happens with using their servers, along with and servers.
Any other alternatives for a temporary solution? I'll be here 1 month.

"Wire has been based in Europe. Why now tie themselves to the US? Usually a holding company is to provide a barrier between the assets of a company and the owners. But the CEO of wire own the holding company, so that is not the reason they created a holding company. So why?"

"Wire: Messenger is 100% owned by a US holding company

Wire Swiss GmbH was acquired by Wire Group Holdings Inc., Dover (USA) at the end of July 2019 - and looks like a start-up for me. The Wire Swiss GmbH is still based in Switzerland and the development takes place in Berlin."

For the new folks on Mastodon, here are the various ways you can discover new people on here to talk to!

Please boost :)

Hmm, wondering about the sudden influx of new people here... Anyone knows the reason why? Not complaining at all, just curious :)

Using Debian 10 here. How safe it is to use the "apt autoremove" command? I have it installed in a USB pen to test a lot of stuff, so I have s ton of packages showing for autoremove.

We all know that Google (with Chrome-ium) has at least close to 90% of the browser marketshare on the internet.

Which is your primary browser on your computer?

Remember that Brave, Opera and Edge are Chromium derivatives. I consider Safari to be separate since it's Webkit and not Blink.

Retoot this to get more votes in.

#poll #browser #firefox #chromium

So, I'm looking for information regarding living and working in Denmark. Once we finish our trip we need to settle down somewhere and Denmark has been a recurrent topic in our conversations. Anyone here that lives in Denmark that can point me in the right direction to where I can find some more information, or have some information themselves?
Greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Can anyone explain to me how mobile internet in Mongolia is at least 10x cheaper than in Europe? This while having 4G with a very good connection. I've been noticing this since India, all across SE Asia, but wasn't expecting it in Mongolia 🤔

Something I forgot to mention is that we will try to update the website with new photos every week. We have more than 20.000 photos at the moment 😅

Dear fellas, me and my wife created this website to share the photos of our ongoing travel. All the photos are royalty free, you can use them as you wish 🙂. Our goal is to try and generate some income so we can extend the travel a bit longer. We wanted to ask you all a big favor, that you share this website with everyone you know, and on all social media 😁! A big thanks to all of you! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

We still have IT magazines that come with a CD full of apps! How cool is that! 😁

About to get on a series of flights: Bogotá - Cancún - Vancouver - Xiamen - Hong Kong
Leaving now and arriving on the 27th.
I hope I have enough podcasts :P

Any chance to follow twitter handles from here?
Need to follow a couple for work related stuff and didn't want to create a twitter account again.

@DistroJunkie @elfring @bumbervevo
Seems is working properly again.
I felt that I needed to update this 😅

Just a follow up, I have 2FA on and I was using the app passwords. It never worked well, it kept giving me connection errors but with a lot of forcing it synced. But now it works like every 2 or 3 days. It getting unbearable 😤
