@jordanmiracle agreed.. only the lucky have the luxury to separate politics from their life. People dont just get into politics for fun. They have to because their lives are rattled by it.
Hey fediverse!
I'm looking for some motivated computer programmers to learn and collaborate with.
I am the sole developer at my job, and the (mostly) sole developer for all of my side projects; and to be frank, I've been lonely.
My goals are to further study mathematics and computer programming fundamentals in order to become a true professional and not just some "guy who makes webapps". I want to contribute meaningfully to my field and the world.
Feel free to boost, dm, and share links.
One thing I do notice, is that the community I have come across on here seems infinitely more informed and civil than the average person on Twitter. I left Twotter for a few months and just checked it out again.. Holy shit.. It's been more than two years since I left Facebook and I don't even want to know..
Something that needs more attention is the fact that we already have the resources to care for this planet, every soul on it, and expand our reach into the Cosmos. We have an abundance of resources. Even energy, we orbit a nuclear fusion plant. I mean, goddamn. It's not hard. What we need is for a different type of leadership, competent leadership, that will reinvest in technology and the health of every person on Earth.
I know the people have the power, but we don't control the resources.
Computer Science Major and self-taught developer. I am not particularly social, but am open to talking to any kindred spirit I come across if we can learn from one another or work together. Forced conversation is nigh intolerable. I'm open to any development opportunity that will truly help make a difference on this planet.
