@kev I recently started transitioning away from Google services, then I just found your posts about De-Googling. It's nice to know that there are other people doing this as well! Also it is reassuring to see we independently chose some of the same replacements (NextCloud & DuckDuckGo). I went with ProtonMail for email, though:

@johanv Proton was actually one of the services I considered. I was actually on the beta program for then. However, I don't send encrypted emails, and the lack of versatility that comes with Proton because of the encryption was a deal breaker for me. Plus, lack of storage.

@johanv @kev I’m not google free, but I have put google in a box and closed the lid on all my devices.

@cobra2 @johanv that's a good start! Personally, I think it's impossible to be completely Google free.

@johanv @cobra2 but as Johan said in his article, if you can get the big stuff off there (email, docs etc) that's a win.

@johanv @cobra2
I think you are right @kev ... Unless, we abandon technology. But, even then, I don't think we could be Google Free. Not without, a nuke and pave of their entire business. 🤣 🤣
