Well, this is my of , and it is complete, because it ended here.

Random thoughts, my journey of reading and more filler because it's my after all. Mild ahead, behind a clear warning and you can skip them!

This is day 27 of

joelchrono.xyz/blog/dune/

joelchrono.xyzDuneMy thoughts on Dune, by Frank Herbert. Spoilers ahead.

I'll cc my chorus as @RL_Dane does cuz I'm shameless.

@dm @jp @sotolf @orbitalmartian @isa

If you reply to this pls remember to remove the mentions of others.

@joel You CC me then warn me of spoilers before you know I've read the book 😢

Looking forward to reading the review eventually!

@jp oops

You can read the first two thirds tho

@joel @jp

Maybe move the spoiler warning to the appropriate location?

@amin @jp I just added a spoiler section that can be skipped! so yeah, even if you read it they really aren't that big lol

@joel @amin @jp i mean Dune was published in 1965. Do we really need spoiler alerts? 😝

@Jennifer @amin @jp I know right but many of my friends haven't read it so ye

@Jennifer @joel @jp

I think given its recent surge in popularity they are of renewed usefulness.

@amin @Jennifer @joel No no that's a good point. I've had almost 60 years to read it. Not being alive for more than half of that is just an excuse.

@jp @amin @joel I am reading it now for the first time but I know generally what happens!

@jp @Jennifer @joel

I read it for the third time as the first text of my AP Lit class, which was really awesome of my teacher. Then the class went together to see the Dune Part 1 when it came out a couple months later.

@jp @Jennifer @joel

My youngest brother actually finished it recently. ;)

@jp @Jennifer @joel

I think I've probably read it five times total?

I should really give the sequels a chance some time.

@amin @jp @Jennifer what's the point of 5000 limit if you'll do 3 posts instead of one :blobcatderpy:

@joel @jp @Jennifer

To pad my toot count. I just passed 21k on this account.

@joel Nice post, maybe I’ll pick up Dune, never read or watched before but seems a good book.

@orbitalmartian @joel i remember it as being boooooring, so proceed with caution :p

@joel I responded before entering the chorus lol

@joel yay, your review is ready! Thanks for sharing this. I really enjoyed that book. I made the mistake of watching the 1984 movie of Dune the same day I finished the book and I got blood curdling angry....it did not live up to the book at all. The current movies definitely do.

@joel I'll read this later! Commenting to save it

@joel
Great review. Now go and read Gardens of the Moon 😁

@joel Nice article. You mention wanting to try Neuromancer again. I've read it or tried to read it three times now, and I still can't bring myself to like it or care about it. I have friends who are great fans. If you can't make it work for you, you aren't alone.
