@joel I think it might be worth asking your direct supervisor how you can use you’re interests (security, etc.) for the company, if there are opportunities to use those skills, etc. I would frame it as a long-term plan or career trajectory, not as a “I’m already bored and want to do something else”. Depending on company culture, you might get to talk to the actual IT security people and get mentored or something. Worst case they do nothing and you move on with the experience on the résumé.
