Zig is an absolutely wonderful language. When looking for something to supplant all the work I do in C, I thought it was going to be Rust, but after exploring Zig this week I think I like it more than Rust

@jefftime Is Zig as safe as Rust when it comes to memory management though?

@SeanPedersen96 it doesn't have the whole "statically verifiable safety" that Rust has with its ownership and lifetime system. But it does have some facilities like bounds-checked slices and pointers can't be null. The big draws for me so far are slices, error handle, and incredible C interoperability. Working with C libraries feels so much more ergonomic than Rust. It's also just really quick to get code up and going. I recommend checking it out!
