Dear Fediverse, I have a slight problem, best illustrated by the picture below.
My daughter's right AirPod was last seen in a restaurant in Madrid. I can barely order a beer in Spanish, and they hang up on my English. I can't even confirm if they've found it or not.
It's not that big of a deal, I guess, but I just dislike the idea of recycling perfectly working hardware.
Could anyone help me out here please? Just calling the restaurant would be a start.
UPDATE: See reply.
UPDATE:
Sadly, the AirPod hadn't been found at the restaurant, although that is the last known location. With that, the hope for recovering it is pretty much lost.
Cheers to @gabboman for volunteering to call the restaurant. He was the first; it warms my heart that there were so many others too.
@jani im sorry but this is so amusing lol, i hope someone will help you out
@aks Oh, I can't help laughing myself!
@jani maybe you can eq the right one up really loud and send them messages with it
@jani spanis here, let me know the name of the restaurant and ill try calling later
@jani bad news everyone the restaurant says they didn't found them there
@jani @LauraLokkie would You like random quest from the Fediverse? :D
@KasTasMykolas @jani ah damn, maybe I can try
The quest just got really hard...
@jani send an e-mail to the restaurant? With this picture of course, so they can laugh too
@Emmaf_77 It's a restaurant chain, they don't provide email addresses to the individual restaurants, and the corporate web form lead nowhere.
@jani Deft allegory.
@jani Spaniard living in Finland here. I can also call them but until June I won't go to Spain (not even close to Madrid) and until July I won't come back to Tampere. I can ask if any Spaniard living in Tampere is going to Madrid any time soon. Also to some in Helsinki
@adelgado Thanks. The first priority is checking if the restaurant has found them at all. Someone already volunteered to call them. We'll know more after that.
It was fantastic indeed, but sadly the outcome was not:
@jani once i forgot a pair of airpods on a plane. i could see them travelling for a good 48 hours. someone from the staff must have had taken them. they traveled outside the airport. next day back to the airport. then they disappeared. i am wondering still to this day what has happened to them. They were never returned to the Lost & Found. Find My can be painful to watch. So close and yet so far away.
@jani I bet it fell out in the bathroom. Occupational hazard of having to sit when you pee: your pockets go upside down.
@jani I'll fly to madrid to get them for you. :) Just need to pay for airfare. ;-)
Though at this point, i'd be worried about being able to return to the US....
@ShredderFeeder @jani excellent time to emigrate, surely.
@tintinaujapon I would think there are worse places to be "stranded" than Madrid, Spain. :)
