@imattau @LemmyDev only thing I'm missing is the constant nagging to use the official app instead of the website. Oh wait

@orangelamp @imattau One thing we want to implement is an option where new users have to write a short "application" and mods have to approve the account before it is unlocked. This is already implemented in Mastodon.

@LemmyDev @imattau Approved by who?

Is the intent for sub mods to eventually control and host their own subs like Mastodon instances?

Could be an interesting tactic to do stuff like block out users of the inevitable T_D clone from stuff like queer discourse, and it should solve most of the issues people have with Reddit admins and powermods.

@orangelamp @imattau Approved by the instance admins probably.

Moderation will definitely be tricky, especially when it comes to federated instances and communities. But we will definitely do everything we can to stop nazis from using Lemmy.

@imattau
I'm paying close attention to this one myself. I have high hopes for Lemmy and can't wait to put up a server. But my understanding is that AP support is a bit of a ways off.

It's looking good so far though. I've been tempted to put up a server to play with it, but without AP it'll just kinda sit there as my solo play thing.
