If you use Debian: you're got getting the recent Intel CPU bugfixes because Intel updated the firmware package's license to state that it's not redistributable.

If use Linux other than Debian and have the bugfixes: ask your maintainers why they're distributing software they're not legally allowed to.

And in any case: next time you purchase a CPU, evaluate whether AMD might be a better choice than Intel.

I think I still have several of the minifigs you can see around the 1975 time frame. We used to have at least one or two of the one from 1974, but I don't know if that's still around my house.

I'm unsubscribing from all my YouTube channels. I'd like to say that this is because of some sort of moral objection to Google's data mining all the things, but it's really because my children have taken over my YouTube, and I'm more likely to get a recommendation from Google for some weird kids game than I am for something I'm actually interested in. Thankfully, YouTube videos still support RSS, so I'll just put the channels I'm interested in into my RSS reader and forget about subscribing.

@mike lmfao I’m getting this now! Loads of annoying craft things and songs. I guess it’s good they’re into that stuff but it makes it unusable for me hah. I should make another account for the tv maybe hmmm

It's official: our first desktop app will be for Linux / FreeDesktop.org-compliant desktops.

And it's coming out this week 😀

I did a bit of a write up on setting up Guild Wars 2 on (K)ubuntu with Lutris.

You can also now follow that account on the fediverse (you know, here): @rtwx

@joseph Perry sure they’re broken on updated mastodon servers, for last couple of updates.

I had no idea could do color schemes! It makes *such* a big difference—I might actually use it as my primary email client now.

(Why, no, I don't subscribe to , why do you ask?)

Woooo weekend of September 8th I’m going to see FreeEMS in action it sounds like 😁
This, for anyone curious: freeems.org - it’s foss engine management. As in, it runs your injected car engine 🙂

@itsnotatuxedo @chuck I’m looking at something that will do 4K like a Pine64. Thinking of mirroring a couple of external 4TB drives or similar for storage, possibly on my Pi which is in a cupboard doing PiHole duty these days.
Keen to see what you do.

I'm not sharing this to get you to back it, although it's cool if you want to.

I'm just really proud of how the page came out.

not a single time has a “hey, fuck you, you’re using one of those adblockers” interstitial tried the approach of saying “we ensure our ads are unobtrusive, lightweight & malware-free, so please consider not blocking our ads,” an approach which might actually get me to consider it

@kungtotte @manulfk it did it on work wifi and mobile data.
Only on my home network with PiHole there’s no ads.
