Does anyone have any drone experience? A drone of their own? A little community knowledge? Wisdom?
@Mainebot I’ve been eyeing up FPV quad racing for a hobby, but can see a massive crossover in skills.
There’s a ton of resources online for starting out, legal airspace requirements and qualifications seem to be the biggie.
@Mainebot nice, that’s not so bad. There’s a few podcasts about the topic, I listen to one sporadically called The FPV Show but that’s more for racing and new tech related to that, though they do talk about legal stuff and working too sometimes.
@ignitionigel I have a bunch of tabs with info on that open right now, like being FCC compliant, and what you need in Canada to legally fly a drone. Mostly, you just need to fill out a form every time you fly, until you've got enough experience they give you a standing permission to fly.
