After 7 long years, I am leaving the interplanetary journey to join a new exciting project. It is quite bittersweet, but I think it's for my best.

It’s now time to share a bit of my thoughts after a month and a few days at the new place

I think I now realise that working on open source projects full time was actually something I really valued. Working on closed source stuff where you reinvent the wheel instead of using from the community and giving back is... I don't know... not the best feeling.
@hacdias How's commuting for you? For me it's basically the biggest downside. I would probably be in the office way more if it only takes like 15 min to get there. So it's more or less 2 hours a day "wasted".
@Kovah fortunately I live on the same street as the company so that is really not a problem. But this is something that can change, especially with growing companies that end up needing larger spaces.
I think that if I were to be commuting more than 15 minutes I wouldn’t have accepted the job.
