So I decided to give a try, after reading @kev 's blog.
Any recommendations of must-have (tech) accounts to follow?

Thanks all! Going through all of your suggestions 😀

@gvhoecke why thank you. This post might help you get started, especially part four “find interesting people to follow”

@gvhoecke @kev there is a metric fekkton of them tbh.
My suggestion is lurking a bit, checking up what is shared on local and follow what you like (because it can be so different what people like)

Welcome. What I did when I started was to follow one person I knew about from elsewhere and then check who they follow and so on...

@gvhoecke Here are a few recommendations from the people I follow.

And me 😊

The way I found interesting accounts/people was just by lurking around the local timeline for a while. You see what people on your instance are tooting, who/what they're boosting, and you end up finding some really cool stuff. Then you follow them, see who they're following, who they're boosting and so on 😉

Also if you use mastalab you can find a bunch of lists of people classified (not sure how the classification was done) there is various tech related lists, it's easy to mass follow from inside a list from the mastalab client. (Android only)

"whom to follow"
Also the directory of people should be of some help.. (opt-in feature on latest version of )

Give @bob a look. Also @rysiek even though he's still on .social ;-)

So many more, but you have to start somewhere ...

@deejoe @gvhoecke @bob @kev yeah yeah, I will set up my own instance at some point. Eh.

@gvhoecke @kev, welcome. You can check out the #ff and #followFridays tags to see people’s following recommendations.

@gvhoecke, I just saw that @kev’s blog post already recommends those tags.

@gvhoecke @kev Following your the local timeline of your instance and other cool instances is a great way of finding new cool people to stalk. :)

@mookie Thanks! Yes, been going through it for a while now.
