@gud This article hinges on several absurd assumptions, including “Edward Snowden, AWS and the CIA are part of the same grand conspiracy”.

@wizzwizz4 @gud Yep the whole article is absurd. I wonder how people come up with this stuff.

@AaronTheIssueGuy @gud You know what else got government funding? IPv6. Everyone, stay on IPv4!

@AaronTheIssueGuy @gud Aaaaa, IPv4 also had government funding! Oh no! We must use IPv10 instead.

@wizzwizz4 @gud I heard that each bit is created by the cia and send over manually via paper mail.

@AaronTheIssueGuy @wizzwizz4 @gud conspiracy rabbitholes can go so deep, I've been down there, it's scary and hard to find the way back out :)

@gud yah, gess it's Briar time.

Is there any secure one?

I'm not a spy, but I like what I'm communicating with my closest ones just stay with them. But in fact, if they don't try to be anonymous, all that one side does ends up not worth nothing.

@gud *sigh* There are so many things wrong with that tinfoil hat article that it's hard to know where to start. The policy wranglings that led to RFA/OTF and State funding encrypted communications in general (and Signal in particular) is a fascinating story. It's less fantastic than this conspiracy theory, but definitely more interesting from a political point of view.

@jamesvasile would you mind sharing the story, or at least a link? I'm curious now!
