My son is amazed that an eight year laptop can run so smoothly as he completes his school work. He definitely likes Manjaro and the KDE environment. I think it is important he experiences free open source software and what tasks can be completed on a Linux machine.

Any :opensuse: users 'round these parts?
I'm thinking about switching away from :solus: Solus and seems like a great choice on paper.
Rolling release, loads of packages with Packman, YaST for when you just want a GUI.

Would be great to get my partner on something manageable too, maybe Leap.

A dig on the domain MX record is showing the right info, but waiting for the service to see those changes.

Waiting for propagation is a nightmare 😒.

Waiting for MX Record preference entries to update ... 😴

Come on Linode, you're usually faster than this. How am I supposed to hide my mistakes if you won't update faster! 😁

that @session (the anonymous messenger that aims protects in addition to the content) is in the Fediverse as well.

It's similar to and in concept.

Any hams here into DMR? I was thinking it'd be very cool to have some QSOs with people in fosstodon!

🎉 Welcome to newcomers! 🎉

A few personal tips:

👌 the Fediverse is NOT twitt*r! enjoy a more relaxed, courteous, benevolent way of interacting! you are part of it!

🤚 introduce yourself! also fill bio and post a couple "toots" before following people to have more chance they'll follow back..

👍 favourite and follow generously! This is how to create link around. No algorithm-god is spying on you, telling you who to follow, what to read! \o/

⚠️ many people care about CW... learn about that

Why I left my social accounts

This is incredibly dissapointing and sad to see.

Just because someone disagrees with your views or opinions does not mean sending them threats or insulting them is _ever_ justified.

If you think it's okay to behave this way you need to get off the internet, go outside, and contemplate your actions; people like you do not belong in the FOSS ecosystem.

An interesting read on what Elixir has been upto over the last 10 years and what may be next: dashbit.co/blog/ten-years-ish-

I don't understand a lot of it, but I've always kept an eye on Elixir. There's just something about it that shouldn't be ignored.

Having a browse through the F-Droid apps and stumbled upon Dawn for Reddit (unofficial client for Reddit) - f-droid.org/packages/me.thanel

I have been using Boost, but as Dawn is on F-Droid, I think I'll give it a bash for a week.

Anyone else just it?

Day 4 -

A good favicon can give your site a little more personality and flair.

To make a simple icon pick two colors, a Unicode "geometric shape" character, and a simple shape (square, circle, or rounded square). The simple shape is your container in one color and the Unicode character is centered inside in the other color.

Now your site has a unique visual identifier (with the right meta tags it will show up here)!

Azure IDP: "We've detected a user at risk" > emails.

Me: *Goes to portal to investigate the user*

- Recent Risky Sign-ins = nothing

- Detections not linked to sign-in = nothing

- Risk history = nothing

Thanks for that. That's incredibly useful information. I know exactly where to start now.
