Why are there no browns on the colour wheel?

@grantek No colours are real and they certainly aren't circular. The human brain invented them, given some crude detectors, sensitive to light in a range around the frequencies we call "red", "green" and "blue". The reds and violets don't really meet.
@grantek Thanks for the link. My intuition was that you needed to mix 3 primaries, so brown was the light that wasn't there. Orange was a surprise.
@grantek I remember playing with poster paints at primary school. If you kept adding primaries, you always got mud colour but I guess red and yellow made orange and blue took it closer to black.
