Don't think this is a good advice.
After following this tutorial you will end up with a pretty bloated system having a lot of software installed you probably don't ever need.

@governa The first point is already wrong. Debian *does* allow to install with the default user having sudo permissions, just leave the root password empty and it will be set up like that.
