Gajim 1.4.0 has been released ๐Ÿš€

After more than a year of development, itโ€™s finally time to announce the release of Gajim 1.4.0! ๐ŸŽ‰

Gajim 1.4 series comes with a completely redesigned message window and conversation management. Workspaces allow you to organize your chats to keep matters separate where needed. These changes were only possible by touching a lot of Gajimโ€™s code base, and we appreciate all the feedback we got from you.

@gajim Awesome! This release might make me switch to gajim from dino =)

BTW is there a XEP associated with workspaces, is that still only client-side only?

@gajim wow that looks really nice, i should really try gajim again

@gajim Massive congratulations! I know how much important work went into this release ๐Ÿ˜€

@gajim oh dear.... thst looks horrible, who did this to you?

@gajim looks really cool but I like having small vertical windows.

@gajim I just got the update from flathub. It's looking pretty sexy so far! Now to wait for the OMEMO plugin to get an update as well ๐Ÿ˜…

@gajim Thanks for this update, itโ€™s looks neat!

I keep on receiving browser (Edge) and system (Windows) alerts that the binary is dangerous and not to be trusted. Is this something you could fix?

@jakob @gajim haha, very useful thank you ๐Ÿคก๐Ÿคก๐Ÿคก

@jakob @gajim no, itโ€™s not. If there is a binary for windows itโ€™s because there is a user base there.

@gajim Does the Windows version support voice- and video-calls yet?
@gajim thank you! The old interface was the reason to use dino, but dino has less features. Finally there is a client with both a beautiful appearance and good functionality.

@gajim Pure conincidence that it looks a lot ( I mean, **an awful lot**) like Element ;)?

In any case, nice to see Gajim get some modernisation!

@gajim Congrats and good job! I'm really glad that the #Gajim devs chose to stick with a more consistent one-window UI. The old version had more UI options, but let's face it: It was quite the mess with none of the options being particularly good. And ore consistency was direly needed. There have been 3 (!) ways to access the chat history in 1.3.x. The new search window looks quite good.

@gajim Is there a way to use the current version 1.4 on a Windows 32-bit system?
