Germany's STIKO withdraws recommendation of AstraZeneca shot for people under 60

The newest decision of Germany’s top vaccine agency will almost definitely delay the end of the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany by months.

@gabor ughh thats a disaster... I mean they can obviously not vaccinate people with a vaccine that doesn’t reach safety standards but still, this will certainly lower the trust in all vaccines. The biggest problem is that they communicate those decisions so poorly and don’t explain that this is a testing phase all previous, not covid related vaccines go through and sometimes well... fail. They make it seem like people just got injected totally untested vaccine that is was just allowed for COVID.

Canada did the same thing but for people under 55.

They wanted to vaccinate all adults by end of June, but this will make it hard.
