@werwolf I was checking out Searx based on your comment and the article. I have a question about the architecture: if you run your own instance, would your search queries at Google not be linkable to you by IP and domain?
@werwolf I personally agree with that too, I've used yacy and it is terrible.
@gabor while I disagree about what it says about yacy (I think that both the concept and the project is great, possibly the best way to make a FOSS search engine) I know that it would never be as popular as centralized search engine could be.
I completely agree that a Sourcehut like project would be much better than ddg. I use Searx now, but a project like that may make me change.
I hope that it doesn't happen what happened with Gitlab
