I had no idea there's two seasons of a Pacific Rim anime on Netflix. I assume it's no good, or I would have heard about it, so I don't think this is going to be the thing that gets me into watching anime.

Did you know the song "Chariots of Fire" has lyrics? Tune in on Tuesday where @kyle will share them with you.

I work from this coworking place and there's a company who operates from here that has an all-hands at 3pm every Friday to make sure their employees don't leave early for the weekend.

Because I haven't used my stove in my apartment for years the gas company just came and replaced my gas meter assuming it was broken. They were very confused.

I'd like to find more opportunities to share what Owncast is up to with people who would be interested in such things.

Do you know of any Podcasts, YouTube channels or blogs who would be interested in talking about independent, open source live streaming?

I'd love it if you could suggest Owncast as a topic to your favorite content creators!

There's lots of guys running on the beach

Oh really? You created an email with an attention-grabbing subject line to make people click on it, and now you think it was a mistake? I'm sure your marketing team is calling it a success.

Here’s an meme that only users of the software will understand.

The Javascript ecosystem doesn't exist as a way to build things. It exists... to exist... and grow. When people talk about web things I never get the feeling anybody wants to accomplish anything. They just want to install more tooling and edit more config files and create more abstractions, forgetting what the original point was.

I've worked in many different environments, and this is unique to the web.

Another one bites the dust. Glitch acquired by Fastly.

Am I alone in having the deep desire to work with people, together on something awesome?

I thought I'd write my feelings on the subject since it's very often on on my mind.

Does anybody have any experience with xstate? It feels like a good solution to modeling a state machine, but I don't know if it falls into "excessive".

@nicknisi is allowed to respond but his biases will be taken into account.

We know volunteering to help an open source project can feel overwhelming, even when you're interested. Well here's one for those with a web UX and layout skillset:

Owncast is going through a redesign and could use your help with opinions and feedback. We'd like a person or two to act as consultants in our chat to answer questions, you don't need to actively produce or _do_ anything. We need someone to ask: "Should this be blue? Is this ugly?" Could that be you?

DM or owncast.online/help/

I wonder who was like "You know what we need? Javascript to be harder to read. Let's make it so sometimes you define functions with const and arrows and sometimes with the function keyword. Oh, and let's make the arrow syntax really bad."

LIVE NOW: Just a man, a piano, and the esoteric practice of pairing poetic words and phrases with a sequence of musical tones and rhythms. Come for the tunes, stay for the shitty political views!
